Francisco Uribe Araya

President of Ríos to Rivers Chile Board

Francisco is a raft guide from the Ñuble River Basin who is passionate about outdoor sports and the conservation of natural resources, especially free-flowing rivers. After two proposed dams threatened to destroy the Ñuble he decided to dedicate his life to the defense and conservation of rivers. He founded the non-profit "Ñuble Libre" an NGO that works to protect the Ñuble River. He also is a co-organizer of "Ñublefest" which was Chile's first rafting and kayaking festival. He is currently developing a project called “Ruta Leufú” that seeks through rafting to raise awareness about rivers threatened by dams in Chile and Latin America as well as supporting the NGO “Ríos to Rivers Chile”.
