Mark Harvey

Ríos to Rivers USA Board Member

Mark Harvey is a native of Western Colorado and presently lives in the Roaring Fork Valley. He has had a lifetime passion for the outdoors and grew up skiing, hiking, rafting, and horseback riding. For several years, Mark taught for the National Outdoor Leadership School and it was during those years that he first lived and worked in southern Chile, eventually falling in love with its wild landscape. He helped start a shellfish farm in Chiloe, and is presently a partner in the same company. Mark is the author of the National Outdoor Leadership School’s Wilderness Guide and the director of the film A Land out of Time, a documentary on the extensive gas development in the Rocky Mountain West. He has served as board member for High Country News, Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, the Maki Foundation and EcoFlight.
